Meek pointed to money, respect, and an ongoing mission to support his community as key elements of his life.

Meek Mill has proposed comparing his life with that of a recent detractor who called him “slow,” noting that he has both financial comfort and respect to his name.

In a recent X update showing a photo of himself alongside Jay-Z and Michael Rubin, among others, Meek explained his personal strategy of typically opting for hoodies instead of a suit and tie when enlisted for public appearances. According to Meek, he does this so that “they see me as a Black man from the streets.” When sharing the photo, Meek also mentioned Trayvon Martin, who was wearing a hoodie when fatally shot by George Zimmerman in Florida in 2012.

In response, an X user wrote, “This n***a a special kind of slow.” Meek didn’t let that slide, swiftly offering to simply compare their lives “in front of the world,” a comparison he’s confident will work in his favor.

“I have millions in my bank account, respected by the streets and the wealthy, with over $30 million raised to fight the system with reform,” Meek said, adding that he also owns multiple homes and offers continued support to his community.

“Let’s compare lives right here in front of the world lol,” Meek said.

In another update, this time citing a Birdman quote, Meek elaborated further, revealing that the first time he saw a Black man wearing a suit was “in a casket.”

Meek is currently fresh off his guest appearance on Fridayy’s “Proud of Me,” a track which saw him reflecting on how much he misses his late father. According to Meek, the vulnerable lyrics were a surprise to his mother, who “didn’t even know I felt like this” until the song’s release.
