Believe it or not, the masterful Lil Boat was released 16 long months ago. Lil Yachty's first full-length tape, which included his megahit "Minnesota" remix, was followed by Summer Songs 2 (a sequel of sorts to his first EP) and the debut album Teenage Emotions. And now, as Yachty teased late Wednesday night, Sailing Team fans are about to be rewarded with another chapter in the Lil Boat story.
In a brief Instagram clip, Yachty teased a new song featuring production from Charlie Shuffler. "Lil Boat 2 Otw," Yachty captioned the clip, which ends with the promise that the sequel is "coming soon."
The apparently imminent Lil Boat 2 release would cap off what has been an undeniably prolific year for the bubblegum trap pioneer. Earlier this month, Yachty shared "The Race Freestyle." The track sees Yachty calling for Tay-K's release over a new version of "The Race."
Yachty also recently appeared in Kodie Shane's "Drip on My Walk" video, treated fans with a Sprite-sponsored performance in Atlanta, and dropped the joyful video for his equally joyful Diplo collab "Forever Young."
Yachty is currently sailing the nation on his Teenage Tour, which hits St. Paul, Minnesota on Thursday night. The routing runs through Oct. 21 in Phoenix, Arizona and includes additional stops in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Diego, and Portland. Get the full list of remaining dates below.
