I was feeling skeptical about the general quality level of yet another year here on a doomed planet until I saw this:

Fresh off word that a TM88, Southside, and Young Thug project is in the works, TM88 teased us further by announcing an official release for the long-hyped "Mood" featuring Lil Uzi Vert and Marshmello. The track, co-produced with Southside, was teased throughout 2017 and—judging by previously surfaced clips—has an estimated zero percent chance of being anything other than 👌.

TM88 enjoyed some well-earned ubiquity in 2017 thanks to Uzi's "XO TOUR Llif3," which also featured co-production from JW Lucas. The Luv Is Rage 2 hit spent 39 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and enjoyed a second wind thanks to the release of a Marilyn Manson-inspired video directed by Virgil Abloh in September.

"Anyone can relate: I was in a dark space, so I went with it," Uzi, looking back on the track's growth from what he initially thought would be a SoundCloud "throwaway" to a chart-topping hit, toldBillboard last month. "That's how I made the album. I just got that feeling: These are the songs, that's it."

The rest of Uzi's 2018 is set to include a full-fledged rock album, a possible collab project with Playboi Carti, and/or another Luv Is Rage entry. Uzi is also hitting the road for a string of California dates starting later this month in San Francisco.
