Lil Uzi Vert Sued Again Over Previously Disputed Assault Claims, Attorney Denies Involvement

Previously disputed assault claims involving both Lil Uzi Vert and Floyd Mayweather are back in headlines this week following the filing of a lawsuit in Philadelphia.

As reported back in June of last year, a man, named in reports at the time as Abdullah Ali, alleged in a New York lawsuit that both stars were involved with an incident in New York City in 2023 that left him with injuries. By June of this year, Uzi, whose reps denied any involvement from the Eternal Atake 2 artist in the alleged incident at the time, had been dismissed from that suit.

Now, per a report from regional outlet The Philadelphia Inquirer, Uzi is being sued by Ali again, this time in their home state. The alleged Manhattan incident is described in the new suit as starting with Ali spotting a Rolls-Royce inside a trailer bearing the name of Mayweather’s Money Team brand.

After taking photos of the car, Ali claims that an argument between himself and multiple individuals allegedly associated with Uzi escalated to an assault. In the newly reported complaint, Ali claims he was kicked and punched during the alleged ordeal. Per the Inquirer, an attorney representing Ali claimed that their client had sustained a shoulder injury and lost teeth.

“This case has been frivolous from the outset with absolutely no evidence of any involvement by Uzi or Uzivert [Uzi’s company] in this alleged assault,” Joanna Menillo, an attorney for Uzi, said in an email to Complex on Wednesday. “The Court in New York rightly dismissed this case and we expect the Court in Pennsylvania will do the same.”

Complex has also reached out to a legal rep for Ali, as well as the NYPD. This story may be updated.

We last got something new from Uzi in the form of their starring turn in a @rayscorruptedmind-shot Vans Premium Old Skool campaign in May. In a Complex interview at the time, Uzi said of fashion and music, two fields in which they’ve found continued success, “one isn’t more important than the other.” Instead, Uzi explained, they take a far more zoomed-out approach.

“We all serve a purpose on the Earth, so don’t judge music or fashion if you don’t fit in it,” they said.

More recently, Uzi celebrated their first-ever double kickflip.
