Kodak Black's Lawyer on Reports of Rapper Covering Rent for Hundreds in Florida: 'What He Does Best'

According to attorney Bradford Cohen, Kodak has also given back by paying for funerals and food.

Bradford Cohen—a-frequently-in-headlines attorney self-described as a “lawyer to unfamous, infamous, and famous”—has addressed recent social media claims of Kodak Black paying rent for hundreds of residents of the Golden Acres community in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Taking to Instagram, Cohen, who has also represented Lil Wayne and Drake, among other familiar names, cited the reported act of generosity as an example of Kodak “doing what he does best, giving back to the community.” According to Cohen, this is but one of several examples of this in action.

“He’s done so much that isn’t even in the press,” Cohen wrote when sharing a screenshot of a recent article about Kodak. “Paying for funerals and kids’ college funds, law school education, food, air conditioners during heat waves, supporting fallen FBI agents even when one of their own has continually harassed him.”

Cohen then revealed a personal connection to Golden Acres involving a lawyer who previously represented the community in a trespassing-related dispute.

In recent days, multiple social media posts have made the rounds saying that Kodak had covered the rent of more than 200 Golden Acres residents for at least two months. Cited in these posts was a statement shared to a social media account under the name Vince Thompson, though that individual’s connection to Golden Acres and/or Kodak was not immediately clarified.

Complex has reached out to Cohen’s office, as well as to a Kodak rep, for comment. This story may be updated.

This wouldn't be the first time Kodak has been reported to have given back to his community. In 2022, the Gift for the Streets artist partnered with the Zachariah McQueen Foundation to pay rent for families facing eviction in the West Palm Beach area. One year prior, footage showed the 27-year-old delivering air conditioners to Golden Acres residents.

“We do it for the projects,” he said at the time.

This weekend, Kodak is on the lineup for the Grabba Gang 4:20 event in Mana Wynwood. See more info here.
