Kanye West's 'Yandhi' Pushed Back to Black Friday

'Yandhi' isn't coming for almost two months.

After a ton of SNL-induced anger/confusion and a briefly circulated theory that Kanye West's Yandhi album would arrive Oct. 2 for Gandhi's birthday, Kim Kardashian has revealed what is presumably the actual release date for West's ninth (and presumably MAGA-y) solo album.

Yandhi will arrive Nov. 23, a.k.a. Black Friday, just in time to ruin the holidays with exhausting arguments about separating art from artists and how in the hell, exactly, America was ever even great to begin with. He's also going to Africa to finish up the project, drawing inspiration from returning home to Chicago and feeling the energy of his hometown.

What can we expect from this album? Should we, given recent events, even care? Probably not, but here are a few completely imagined but entirely possible predictions:

  • "Both Sides" f/ David Duke
  • "I'm Now Going Door-to-Door Trying to Shock People" f/ The Onion
  • "Jesus Walks (With a Tiki Torch)"

As recently as Sunday, West was out and about wearing that fucking hat. By his assessment, the hat represents "good and America becoming whole again." However, you can't just make something true by saying it. What wearing a MAGA hat actually represents is an affiliation of some kind with an overall ideology that embraces the exact opposite of all this supposed "love" West has espousing in recent weeks.

2018 has already included two new albums from West, Ye and the Kid Cudi collab Kids See Ghosts. Yandhi has been very clearly presented by West as some sort of semi-sequel or companion project to his 2013 album Yeezus, though it's nearly impossible to determine what's genuine and what's reckless trolling for the sake of reckless trolling when it comes to West these days. Also, I'm bored.
