Kill Your Heroes: On Kanye West, Donald Trump, and Hopelessness

In subsequent blasts, West claimed that Yeezy will "hit a billion dollars" in 2018 and is "on its way" to becoming a decacorn. For those wondering, a "decacorn" is a company that hits a $10 billion valuation. West also said he's presently "the single highest paid person in footwear." Additionally, West has sadly resorted to utilizing Trumpian language like "fake news."

The latest round of tweets arrives in the wake of reports that West had parted ways with Scooter Braun, who also reps Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber. Back in March, West and Izvor "Izzy" Zivkovic pulled the plug on their business relationship.

Recent days have seen West publicly express his support for Candace Owens, entertain the idea of a 2024 presidential run, tweet out clips from the Trump-supporting creator of Dilbert, and supposedly tell Ebro that he loves Trump. "He said 'I do love Donald Trump,'" Ebro said on Hot 97 Monday. "Kanye West, quote, 'I love Donald Trump . . . I love Donald Trump.'"

In another tweet Wednesday, West mentioned Ebro by name and called his recently filmed interview with Charlamagne tha God "one of the best" in history.

According to Malik Yusef, who claims to have recently spoken with West on the phone, said fans' growing concerns over West's embrace of dangerous far right figures will be addressed "thu the lens of selfhood" this Friday. It wasn't immediately clear whether "the lens of selfhood" meant more tweets, new music, or something else entirely.
