Kanye West casually announced his inaugural philosophy book Break the Simulation in a recent interview, describing one of its core concepts as being centered on humans' "obsession" with photographs. Now, many highly retweetable tweets later, West has clarified that he's actually penning the book in real time to avoid publishers and/or publicists trying to fuck up the vision.
The clarification arrived Wednesday after West delivered some early morning wisdom on the importance of rejecting distraction, something he's been talking a lot about in recent days. When we first wake up to face another day of whateverism, West recommended, we should hold off on leaping into our iPhones and instead savor the cinematic nature of our own imaginations.

In subsequent blasts of morning inspiration, West advised that everyone "stop lying about shit" and move through the universe in love.
As for how often we should expect new book drops, West confirmed he will be working on Break the Simulation only when he's feeling it.
For me, the "you will be a drop of water" portion of Wednesday's offerings immediately brings to mind Edward James Olmos' unforgettable cameo in Joaquin Phoenix's 2010 mockumentary I'm Still Here. "That's me, that's you, drops of water," he tells Phoenix during a pivotal scene. "And you're on top of the mountain of success. But one day, you start sliding down the mountain and you think 'Wait a minute; I'm a mountain top water drop! I don't belong in this valley, this river, this low dark ocean with all these drops of water.'"
All that to say, it feels fucking great to have West back on the tweets.
