Kai Cenat on Ye: 'The Beef Is Over, Chat'

"Oh my god. He’s trying to call me a dehydrated horse," Kai recently told fans.

Kai Cenat has given fans an update on the status of his “beef” with the artist formerly known as Kanye West.

In recent days, Ye became the subject of social media chatter after sharing an edited image of a Bully-promoting horse in Kai’s house. In a subsequent stream, Kai, recently ranked among Complex’s picks for the best streamers right now, addressed the confusion brought on by the image.

“I don’t even know what this shit means,” he told the chat. “Now, listen, I know he’s got an album coming out. And I’m not gon’ lie. I think I’m officially a part of the rollout. I don’t know though. Brilliant move by him. I think I’m a part of the rollout. He made me a part of the fucking rollout, dude.”

Kai continued, “But it’s the most random thing. Like, I wanna pick at his brain, and I wonder why. Oh my god. He’s trying to call me a dehydrated horse. Oh my god. What can this mean? Is he gonna diss me?”

From there, Kai asked the chat if he should call up Ye’s manager, which he did. This led to the voice on the other end of the phone proposing that he would try and get Ye and Kai connected for a conversation. After the call, Kai continued to express his confusion, wondering aloud whether Ye could be “trolling” him or simply showing him some love with Bully on the horizon.

Later, Kai received another call, seemingly from Ye’s team, in which it was noted that it was still early in the morning at the time for Ye, though Kai was urged to keep his eyes on his phone in case the 24-time Grammy winner were to reach out. As seen deeper into the video above, this ultimately coalesced into a DM from Ye.

“Oh my gosh. Kanye just texted me,” Kai said. “Kanye said, ‘Happy new year, family.’ I’m not lying to you. … The beef is over, chat. The beef is over.”

In his response, as Kai revealed to fans, he told Ye that the two should indeed link up for a conversation soon. This comes after Ye publicly slammed Kai as an “industry plant” in April of last year.

Bully, meanwhile, was at one point expected to be getting a 2024 rollout, which would have made it Ye's third full-length project of the year after his and Ty Dolla Sign's two Vultures volumes. The current status of Bully, Ye's first solo release since 2021's Donda, is unknown, though footage recently making the rounds on social media showed that work was continuing on the album.
