John Mayer, who recently announced he's in the process of "thoughtfully entering the cannabis life," took some time out from his Dead and Company tour duties Wednesday to chat with Rolling Stone. During the discussion, Mayer fielded questions about everything from getting older to being dubbed the best "in bed" by Katy Perry.
Asked about Perry's ranking, Mayer made a point to keep his response as response-free as responsibly possible. "I don't have a cool-enough thought for you," Mayer said. "I've hacked this game. I pay very little of the price of fame now. I get to play the music that moves me the most. I'm having the time of my life. I'm 39—I remember 32. I don't wanna do it again."
The ranking occurred during Perry's Witness-promoting YouTube livestream in a segment featuring Late Late Show host James Corden. When Corden asked Perry to list exes Mayer, Diplo, and Orlando Bloom from worst to best "in bed," Perry reluctantly agreed. Mayer came out on top (i.e. best), while Diplo placed dead fucking last.
Diplo's response was remarkably prompt. "I don't even remember having sex," he tweeted. Later that day, Diplo shared a touching memory of winning the "bronze metal [sic]" at the "sex Olympics."
For what it's worth, Perry told Corden that all three experiences were amazing. "They're all amazing lovers, and I wanna have sex with all of them when I get out of this place," she said:
