John Legend Trashes Our 'Terrible President' at Time 100 Gala

John Legend talks Trump's complete lack of qualifications on the Time 100 red carpet.

John Legend outlined Trump's distinct lack of qualifications for the job he currently holds at Tuesday night's Time 100 gala. On the red carpet ahead of his mini-concert at the event, Legend told reporters that the former Apprentice host and apparently confused Twitter user was using his White House stint as a way to pocket some money for his personal brand.

"I think he's a terrible president," Legend said Tuesday, USA Today's Maeve McDermott reported. "He's manifestly unqualified, not curious, not good at legislating or doing anything that his job requires. He doesn't have any depth about any subject. And he's also using the office of the presidency as a way to make money for himself and his businesses, so he's corrupt."

Legend added that he's not able to say "anything nice" about Trump, as he's "one of the worst people" he's ever encountered in public life:

Later in the night, Legend performed "Love Me Now," "Penthouse Floor," and more:

Previously, Legend used his time on the Producers Guild of America awards stage in January to speak out against Trump's attempts at immigration restrictions:

"Los Angeles is the home of so many immigrants, so many creative people, so many dreamers," Legend told the PGA audience in January. "And those of us who work in this business have the privilege of shaping how the world perceives this country we love. We are the voice, we are the face, of America."
