Halsey Slams Firefly Festival for Dude-Heavy Lineup: 'It's 2018, Do Better!'

Firefly's 2018 lineup is toplined by Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, The Killers, and Arctic Monkeys.

Halsey, a proven expert at schooling idiots, is shining a spotlight on the annoyingly dude-heavy lineup at this year's Firefly Music Festival.

"Damn guys come onnnnnn," Halsey tweeted Thursday. "Where the women at. This was one of my favorite festivals I've ever played and it's a shame there's not more females on the bill. With the exception of (the amazing) Sza, the first like 20 acts on the bill are men. It's 2018, do better!!!"

When someone (in a since-deleted tweet) questioned Halsey's comments, she pointed out that artists are asked by festival organizers to perform. "So many dope women in music right now!" she said.

To put the disparity firmly in perspective, consider this: Just 20 percent of the artists on Firefly's lineup are women (or include women). That's fucking lame.

After a run of dates in New Zealand and Australia in support of her underrated 2017 album Hopeless Fountain Kingdom, Halsey is heading to Gulf Shores, Alabama for the Hangout Music Fest. Halsey will be joined on the three-day beach experience by Kendrick Lamar, SZA, The Killers, Grouplove, Noname, Bleachers, Pussy Riot, and more.

But first, Halsey is hitting Studio 8H in New York for this weekend's Saturday Night Live. Sam Rockwell, whose latest film Three Billboards did quite well at the Globes earlier this month, is hosting.
