Gunna Ponders Retiring at 40 on New Song "Got Damn"

"I don't get no rest," Gunna raps on the new standalone single.

It sounds like Gunna has another undeniable hit on his hands.

“Got Damn,” produced by Aviator Keyyz, sees Gunna opening with a matter-of-factly delivered hook that immediately lodges in your head. “I don’t get no rest,” he notes of his lifestyle. From there, Gunna considers all the ways in which he could easily spoil a romantic interest, eventually leading to him pondering an early retirement, like so:

“The way I pick up these G’s just to spend on my lil shorty/Backyard is a sea, I could retire when I turn 40”

The latest from the four-time Grammy nominee follows the previous standalone single “Him All Along,” which hit the Hot 100 upon its release back in October. One of Wun, his latest studio full-length, arrived in May with a No. 2 debut on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Complex recently highlighted the album as one of the best of the year, joining fellow acclaimed projects from a range of artists, Kendrick Lamar and Tyler, The Creator among them.
