French Montana and Rick Ross brought their respective catalogs to the VERZUZ stage on Thursday (May 7), resulting in a number of much-discussed breakout moments, as expected.
As Drake’s verse approached when “Aston Martin Music” came on, Rozay noticeably skipped over it, telling the crowd, “Sing little man’s part,” instead of playing the original vocals.
This is no surprise, as Ross previously said he would skip Drake’s vocals when Complex’s Jordan Rose asked what he would do if the Toronto rapper’s verse came on during any of the songs he plays during VERZUZ.
Ahead of the latest VERZUZ event, Complex ran down our picks for the top 20 songs from both artists, with French’s Swae Lee-featuring “Unforgettable” and Rozay’s “B.M.F. (Blowin’ Money Fast)” with Styles P taking the top spots.
As always, we also launched exclusive merch, including hoodies and tees commemorating the big moment. Get a peek here. For a closer look at past VERZUZ pairings, including Cash Money v. No Limit and more, see here.
