Frank Ocean Talks 'Blonde' and Teleportation in Previously Unreleased Interview

A new Frank Ocean interview has surfaced.

In a recently unearthed interview, Frank Ocean discusses the inspiration and creative process behind his 2016 album Blonde. The video, which seems to have popped up on Twitter via @TeamFrankDaily before Miss Info grabbed, also sees Ocean discussing the potential benefits of teleportation.

"There's no fantasy on this record," Ocean said of his most recent album. "It's all, for better or for worse, autobiographical. Finally getting the album out to the public, he added, was a relief. "You do feel like you've defeated something," he said. The source of the original interview footage remains unclear. An alleged Blonde/Boys Don't Cry promo was also posted, but has since been removed due to a copyright claim.

Ocean most recently issued public comments last week, responding to claims by producer Ken Ehrlich and writer David Wild that his criticism of the Grammys is rooted in his experience as a performer in 2013. "We executed his vision knowing that it was faulty," Ehrlich said on the Rolling Stone Music Now podcast last week. "And we tried to tell him that, we tried to tell his management that, we tried to tell the record label that. So, his feelings about the Grammys right now, I would imagine, probably go back to that in one way. But honestly, it wasn't us."

Ocean, in response, doubled down on his criticism and called the awards show out for handing Taylor Swift the Album of the Year award in 2016. "1989 getting album of the year over To Pimp A Butterfly," Ocean said on Tumblr. "Hands down one of the most 'faulty’ TV moments I've seen."
