Fans Think Lil Durk Is Addressing French Montana With His ‘Biggest Cap’ Comment

French Montana brought Durk's name into the proceedings amid his multi-part response to a 'Squid Game' meme about Montana's use of features.

Fans are convinced that Lil Durk has addressed a recent remark from French Montana in which the “I Don’t Really Care” artist argued that he’s directly responsible for Durk’s rise.

As you may recall, it was a Squid Game meme that caught Montana’s attention last month. The meme, namely, saw a Twitter user positing that it would be Squid Game levels of difficult to name five featureless Montana tracks. In response, Montana proposed that everyone “eat a dick.” Later, he mentioned Durk.

“THEY GOT AMNESIA LIKE I DIDN’T GIVE THEM CHINX DRUGZ LIL DURK AND HARRY FRAUD,” Montana, whose upcoming new project is (perhaps strategically) titled They Got Amnesia, said.

Durk—in the eyes of many fans, at least—has since responded via a succinct Instagram caption.

“A n***a said he made me that’s the biggest cap. … 7220,” he wrote when sharing the post over the weekend, prompting a number of fans to speculate that he was using the caption to respond to Montana:

Notably, Durk and Montana were closely linked earlier in the former’s career, with the OTF founder at one point being assumed to have been close to inking a deal with Coke Boys. Reflections on their previous work together also made it into the music.

In 2019, Durk teased some lyrics in which he mentioned Montana by name and said that their falling out had done “damage.” In the same track, Durk also credited Montana with picking him up “when Def Jam didn’t.” Montana, meanwhile, said at the time that he and Durk were “brothers 4 life.”

A rep for Lil Durk declined to comment on whether the rapper’s latest IG message was about French.
