Famous Dex has begun his birthday celebrations a little early, splurging $63,000 on a new dental procedure.
While it’s unclear exactly when the procedure took place, recent social media updates from the rapper provide a behind-the-scenes look at the extensive process behind the dental work.
On August 21, Dex shared a photo of himself, seemingly at a dental facility, captioning the post with teeth emojis. More recently, he showed off his teeth, revealing what they cost him. "63k for the teeth," he wrote, adding that this was a "happy birthday present" to himself.
"Treat yourself," he told fans. "You deserve it. Hard work pay off. My teeth back, top [and] bottom. OMG, stay out my way [and] tell ya bitch plz get out my DM."
During an Instagram Live session with his sister earlier this month, Dex looked ahead to the procedure while giving an intimate look at what the earlier part of the process looks like.
"Shoutout to the doctors, man,” he said during the stream. "Monday, I can’t do nothing. I don’t give no fucks about showing this off. … I just want to say God is so good. Ask my sister. She knows."
From there, Dex asked his sister to weigh in on why he hasn’t been dropping new music as of late. In response, his sister noted "that grill gotta get right," with Dex echoing this reasoning.
"The reason I haven’t dropped music is because my teeth was fucked up," he said.
Dex’s most recent studio full-length Diana, named in tribute to his late mother, arrived back in 2020. Last year, he joined Rich the Kid and Jay Critch for the fifth installment in the Rich Forever album series.
