EBK Jaaybo is potentially facing a total of up to 15 years behind bars after pleading guilty to possession of a machine gun and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
As seen in court documents filed Thursday (June 4) and viewed by Complex, Jaaybo, born Jaymani Gorman, has entered into a plea agreement under which he concedes to the two offenses while prosecutors move to dismiss the remaining counts.
According to prosecutors, Jaaybo “knowingly possessed” a machine gun, and “knew, or was aware of” its “essential characteristics.” Furthermore, he’s argued to have “knowingly and intentionally possessed marijuana,” which he “intended to distribute,” at least in part, to another party.
“The defendant agrees that he is guilty of the offenses charged and that each of these elements is true,” reads the agreement.
How long could EBK Jaaybo spend in prison?
A final sentence remains to be determined. For the possession of a machine gun charge, the penalty is set at no more than 10 years’ imprisonment, plus a fine of up to $250,000 and three years of supervised released. The marijuana possession-related count, meanwhile, carries with it the possibility of up to five years’ imprisonment, plus its own fine of no more than $250,000 and two years of supervised release.
What happened during EBK Jaaybo’s arrest?
Word of 22-year-old Jaaybo’s plea agreement comes just over a year after the “Boogieman” artist’s Arkansas arrest, which was spurred by a traffic stop led by a state trooper. At the time, Jaaybo and another individual , Xavier Jones (who has also entered a plea agreement), were informed by the trooper that a “strong odor of marijuana” had been detected coming from the vehicle. A search followed, with the trooper claiming to have discovered plastic bags of marijuana, a pill bottle containing “38 assorted pills,” and a Glock 21 with an extended magazine and a switch.
