Drake Updates Fans From the Studio: 'I Thought This Through'

Drake's most recent solo album, 'For All the Dogs,' arrived back in 2023.

Drake has employed a trio of money bag emoji amid a promising update from the studio.

Tuesday night, the 6 god rolled out several in-studio shots, complete with appearances from his go-to beverage and some Chrome Hearts denim. Pairing well with the caption’s choice of emoji is a photo showing three of Drake’s nails painted with white dollar signs, not to mention his decision to accessorize further with a trio of dollar sign pendants.

“I thought this through,” Drake captioned the photos.

Just over a week into a new year, fans are still awaiting more word on Drake’s previously announced joint project with OVO Sound’s own PartyNextDoor. While an official release date hasn’t been announced, past remarks on the project would suggest that we can expect to hear it soon, as it would no doubt best be enjoyed during the colder months.

As for the next solo outing from Drake, the pressure is indeed on in the wake of his and Kendrick Lamar’s historic back-and-forth. A widely held assumption among fans is that 2025 will bring both the PND project and a new solo full-length from Drake, though that remains to be seen. Of course, there is precedent here, as Drake has indeed dropped both a joint project and a new solo album in the same year in the past. In 2022, fans were given both Her Loss, with 21 Savage, and Honestly, Nevermind.

For All the Dogs, the most recent Drake solo full-length as of this writing, arrived back in October 2023. More recently, Drake nabbed headlines with the temporary release of a Conductor Williams-backed freestyle that has since been speculated to stem from issues of the LeBron James variety.
