Doja Cat Jokes She's 'Looking Under the Couch Crevices for Some Streams' After 'Vie' Release

According to Doja, streaming her new album can "heal the nerve endings in ur clih."

Doja Cat is again displaying her signature brand of humor following the release of her 80s-inspired fifth full-length, Vie.

The album, previously described by Doja in a statement to Complex as an “adventurous” entry in her catalog “with homages and nods” to the 80s and other eras, is currently projected to be eyeing a No. 5 chart debut with an estimated 59,000 total units.

Not long after those projections started making the rounds on social media, Doja took to X to joke with fans about “looking under the couch crevices for some streams,” complete with a photo demonstrating the search in action.

Later, Doja took a similar approach when joking about “tallying up all my numbers,” followed by some shrewd advice on the (again, jokingly presented) benefits of streaming Vie. Among them, she noted, are that doing so can “heal the nerve endings in ur clih,” and/or “soothe the micro tears on the shaft.”

“The French word ‘Vie’ (translated in English: ‘life’) was a choice of wordplay by me starting with the simple fact that this is my fifth album,” Doja previously said of her new album, featuring an appearance by SZA and production from Jack Antonoff. “I wanted to stretch this from the roman numeral ‘five’ tattoo on my collarbone. Five in numerology represents curiosity, adventure, and change. I chose Vie as a nod to ‘La Vie en Rose’ and tied it together with the theme of romance and throughout this project I give my interpretation on love, sex, romance, pain, and wonder within a relationship.”

Scarlet, Doja’s previous full-length, debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200 in September 2023. That album was later expanded with the release of Scarlet 2 Claude, the title of which is inspired by Hunchback of Notre-Dame character Claude Frollo.

Next for Doja is her Tour Ma Vie World Tour. The North American leg of the tour begins in October of next year, starting with a show at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. See here for full dates and ticket info.

ComplexCon returns to Las Vegas on October 25–26, 2025, with over 300 brands and live performances by Young Thug, YEAT & Friends, Peso Pluma, Central Cee, Ken Carson, and more. Get your tickets now.
