CB's praise for T-Pain comes days after Drake spoke about "resentment."

Chris Brown is showing some timely appreciation for T-Pain, praising the two-time Grammy winner as a “pioneer” of his field.

“Random thought,” Brown, whose Breezy Bowl XX stadium tour continues this week with stops in Glasgow and Paris, said in a recent Instagram Stories update. “[T-Pain] is one of the GOATs of my generation! Giving you your flowers!!! Pioneer. Love you, my brother.”

While Brown did indeed classify his Pain praise as stemming from a “random thought,” fans will note that these remarks come after Pain and Drake spent a few days in headlines together.

First, Pain, while speaking as a guest on the Crash Dummies podcast, argued that Drake hasn’t followed his own advice with regards to “gracefully” bowing out. From there, Drake responded, claiming Pain “always had resentment for me,” with Offset also later jumping into the conversation.

As for Brown’s words of praise, some were quick over the weekend to highlight past remarks from Pain, namely his take on the singer’s then-recent criticism of the reaction to his Breezy album in 2022.

“Seems like y’all only invest in the negative stories about me,” Brown said at the time, with Pain later connecting this to what he described as “a princess complex.

Like Brown, Pain will soon be celebrating 20 years of music with on extensive tour. In a recent update, Pain let fans know that the overwhelmingly enthusiastic reaction to his decades-commemorating run had been a surprise to him.

“I had no idea it would be welcomed with open arms like this,” he said of the tour, which formally kicks off at Radio City Music Hall in September.
