Cardi B told fans on Sunday that her uncle has been “deported,” though she did not immediately provide additional information.

While speaking with fans on Instagram following the Eagles’ upset against the Chiefs on Sunday night, Cardi, whose “Toot It Up” track with Pardison Fontaine got an official release last week, detailed her frustrations with getting into the New Orleans event due to heightened security measures. As you may have noticed, Trump was in attendance for the Big Game, the halftime show for which was headlined by Kendrick Lamar.

“Yo, I was too fucking mad today because, you know, Donald Trump and shit,” Cardi said in an IG video. “He was at the Super Bowl today and they was giving us a hard time. Oh my gosh. The Secret Service was not playing at that motherfucker. The Secret Service was not playing to get in that motherfuckin’ stadium. Oh my god.”

According to Cardi, this all led to a pricey heel being “fucked up” amid the commotion.

“This shoe cost me three bands,” Cardi said. “All ‘cause of Trump. Now I like him lesser. Now I like him lesser because you didn’t have to go to no damn Super Bowl. Fucking up my shoe. … Now he’s gonna have to, well, he definitely ain’t gon’ do that, bring my uncle. . . back because my uncle got deported.”

Cardi did not elaborate further on either her Super Bowl security frustrations or the situation involving her uncle. She also did not specify when, exactly, the family member in question was deported.

Trump, to be clear, has signed multiple immigration-targeting executive orders since returning to the White House in January. According to stats cited by the Associated Press, the average number of daily immigration arrests has seen an increase of hundreds when compared with recent Biden averages. Per NBC News, ICE made nearly 1,200 arrests in a single day last month.

Cardi has spoken publicly about her frustrations with the current state of American politics in the past, including amid the run-up to the 2024 presidential election. At one point, Cardi had expressed disdain for Trump and Biden both, likening the choice to having to “pick the lesser evil.” Biden later dropped out, with then-VP Kamala Harris becoming the Democratic nominee. Cardi was among the high-profile figures to formally endorse Harris, who ultimately lost to Trump last November.
