Potential titles for Cardi B’s new album, which is still widely expected to be getting a 2024 release, have surfaced thanks to some recent trademark application filings.
As first spotted by TMZ, both Defamation of Character and Intrusive Thoughts are possible contenders, at least judging by the wording of the filings in question. Undeniably, both would-be titles are strong choices to follow up Cardi’s Grammy-winning debut studio album Invasion of Privacy, now certified four-times Platinum by the RIAA. They both work thematically, as well, particularly Defamation of Character.
But what do the filings say, exactly? Well, both were the subject of trademark applications back in June by Cardi’s Washpoppin, Inc. Both also boast the same goods and services breakdown, namely that these still-pending trademarks are intended for a "pre-recorded record album featuring music" and related products.
No release date for the album has been announced. At any rate, it’ll arrive in the wake of an especially eventful period in Cardi’s personal life. Recent days have seen reports of her and Offset having started the journey toward divorce, not to mention an official pregnancy announcement shortly after the news broke.
"With every ending comes a new beginning!" Cardi told the world when making the announcement.
