Lawyer Claims Blac Youngsta's Rented Van Was Stolen and Used in Young Dolph Shooting

Youngsta's lawyer claims his client rented a van that was later stolen and used in the Young Dolph shooting.

Blac Youngsta says he's "innocent" of the charges against him related to the shooting of Young Dolph's SUV earlier this year. After turning himself in Tuesday, Youngsta and two other suspects were charged with six counts each of discharging a weapon into occupied property and felony conspiracy. In a new report from Memphis' Fox 13, Youngsta's attorney claimed there's more to the story.

Youngsta's attorney told reporters his client turned himself in because police found a van that was involved in the shooting. The attorney said the van, which had been rented by Youngsta, was stolen and used during the shooting. "I'm innocent!" Youngsta told reporters when turning himself in at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office Tuesday.

After Youngsta turned himself in, a rep released a statement to XXL claiming "no involvement" with the shooting. "The warrants served were based on lyrics from rapper Young Dolph's Bulletproof mixtape," the rep said. "Youngsta will await arraignment while he maintains innocence and no involvement with the incident."

The shooting, which took place in Charlotte in February, allegedly saw "more than 100 rounds" fired into Young Dolph's bulletproof vehicle. No injuries were reported. Mere weeks later, Dolph released an entire album inspired by the shooting. Bulletproof, released April 1, featured a collab with Gucci Mane and sent a message to detractors with its tracklist. When read in order, the song titles say "100 shots in Charlotte but I'm bulletproof, so fuck 'em. That's how I feel. All of them. I'm so real, I pray for my enemies. I'm everything you wanna be. Smh."
