As part of Big Boi's plans for world domination, he has enlisted the more-than-capable services of Phantogram for the next chapter in the increasingly unpredictable book of one of Georgia's most prominent ATLiens. Big Boi first teased the fruits of this collaboration during Outkast's whirlwind reunion tour in 2014, revealing the trio had already completed a large portion of what would become an entire album entitled Big Grams.
On Saturday, Big Grams made their proper debut as part of the first annual Epic Fest on the Sony Pictures Lot in Los Angeles, California. The inaugural event, also featuring performances from Future and Ozzy Osbourne, serves as a celebration of what Epic Records president Sylvia Rhone describes as "a watershed moment for [the label]." Billboardreveals that, though Big Grams only performed three songs, their set came with a confirmation from Big Boi that the album is (finally) "coming soon."
In fact, the album would appear to be quite imminent indeed, as the trio recently shot the video for its first single:
For further teasing, revisit Big Boi's 2012 album Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors. The painfully underrated solo outing, in addition to featuring the instaclassic Wavves and B.o.B. collaboration "Shoes for Running," also boasts the stellar Phantogram pairing "Objectum Sexuality."
