Beyoncé announced that she and husband Jay Z are expecting twins with a legendary portrait by Awol Erizku on Wednesday, giving the country a brief respite from our growing national nightmare. On Thursday, Beyoncé followed that internet-crashing moment up with a series of additional visual accompaniments and a poem byLemonade collaborator Warsan Shire.
The latest round of photos and GIFs, posted to Beyoncé's official website, also includes touching photos of Blue Ivy, Jay, and the rest of the family over the years:
And Shire's poem? Well, I'm not crying. YOU'RE CRYING.
A "source close to" the Nina Johnson gallery in Miami, where Awol Erizku held a show in 2016, toldARTNews on Wednesday that the artist had "confirmed via text" that the initial pregnancy announcement photo was his work. Though an official announcement has not been made, several of the latest photos posted to Beyoncé's site appear to come from the same shoot.
