Azealia Banks is not holding her tongue when it comes to Nicki Minaj's recent Trump-aligned United Nations speech, where she called for urgent action to defend Christians in Nigeria.

In a series of X updates shared on Wednesday (November 26), Banks argued that Minaj spoke "on behalf of a country she is still NOT a citizen of," a reference to the Pink Friday 2 artist’s citizenship status, while questioning her intentions.

"Even Drake has his papers," Banks wrote. "Even Cardi B isn’t a 40-year-old immigrant. … Doing dolphin tricks for the barbs in a country she can’t vote in is rusty babe."

From there, Banks turned her attention to Nicki's recent "Papi Trumpo" post.

"Dear Papi Trumpo, please grant me honorary citizenship," Minaj wrote in an update on November 4, notably in response to the @PapiTrumpo parody account. "Since these hoes think everything is transactional like their cooch."

In Banks’s opinion, Nicki was trying to "kiss ass" in pursuit of naturalization.

"Nah we have to laugh at Nicki calling Trump 'Papi' like jesssssuuuuuuuussss," Banks wrote. "She overall did a good thing but she ain’t have to call Trump papi then ask for citizenship."

Banks referenced this again in another X post, writing: "Sorry I know the barbs were fucking embarrassed as shit when she said papi … Everyone was."

As of press time, Nicki does not appear to have directly responded to Banks's remarks. In recent months, she’s been teasing a new album for next year, though she also at one point suggested (in a presumably trolling manner) that the project had been scrapped.
