Ariana Grande on New "Pete Davidson" Song: 'Music Lasts Forever'

There's a new cut on Ariana Grande's upcoming album 'Sweetener' titled, simply, "Pete Davidson." The fiancé-inspired interlude was originally titled "Pete."

While I wait for a certain someone to write a song called "Trace William Cowen," Pete Davidson can rest easy knowing we'll all get to hear "Pete Davidson" in a matter of weeks.

The song, originally titled "Pete," appears on Ariana Grande's upcoming album Sweetener and has previously been described by the singer as an "interlude" about her fiancé. Monday, Grande responded to a fan's inquiry about the slight title change, noting that "music lasts forever" and this love should be "a part" of that immortality.

"There are parts of my life that they would love to know about and hard times that I have been dealing with for the past year-and-a-half that they deserve to know about because they love me endlessly and care," Grande told the Fader back in May of what fans can expect, thematically, on her new album due Aug. 17. "I don't want to hide any pain from them because I can relate to their pain."

As for their engagement, Davidson recently confirmed that it's indeed "fucking lit" and "so sick," as expected. "I feel like I won a contest," he told a late-night Jimmy last month, adding that the press coverage around it is "weird" due to the fact that Trump's continued fuckeries are more important. "Shouldn't we care about that?" he asked.
