Anderson .Paak Drops Video for Smokey Robinson Collab "Make It Better"

The track is taken from .Paak's 'Ventura,' out April 12.

Anderson .Paak's quick Oxnard follow-up may be just one week away from release, but that isn't stopping the recent Grammy winner from hitting fans with new music.

Thursday, .Paak utilized the latest episode of his Beats 1 show.Paak House Radio to premiere his new Smokey Robinson collab "Make It Better," which also comes with a music video, above.

Speaking with Apple Music's Zane Lowe about working with the decades-strong legend, .Paak credited his creative approach with turning the entire track around.

"Lord knows I had different lyrics before," .Paak said. "He came and changed the whole thing up." Noting that the 79-year-old Robinson's "still got it," .Paak then dove a bit further into his unique song-saving process. "My original was like, 'It's easier to run away than to eat what's on your fucking plate,' and he was like, 'No baby, What in the hell? No, no,'" he recalled.

Ventura is out April 12 and also features André 3000, Brandy, Nate Dogg, and more.

Elsewhere during his .Paak House Radio takeover Thursday, .Paak also discussed the recent death of Nipsey Hussle and his upcoming tour. "I've been very vexed," he said of Hussle, who was fatally shot in Los Angeles Sunday.

"My soul has been very vexed. I almost feel sick to my stomach. The world has lost such a pivotal leader, someone who was a teacher and an inspiration, a solider, an angel. Just one of the most humblest, smartest, bravest men in hip-hop. And not only in hip-hop but just, in general, that the world has known."
