Adele’s 25-spurred chart dominance, predictably enough, is certainly showing no signs of slowing down. For the third straight week in a row, 25 takes the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 ahead of new albums from Coldplay, Rick Ross, G-Eazy, and Jeremih.
25 nabbed another 728,000 equivalent album units for the week ending Dec. 10, Nielsen Music reports. That pull brings the album’s three-week haul to a staggering 5.19 million copies, putting it on pace to hit 6 million by the end of the year. The last time that feat was achieved, the honor went to Usher's Confessions back in 2004. Coldplay's A Head Full of Dreams, featuring President Barack Obama, bowed at No. 2 with a sizable 210,000 units.
Rick Ross’ guest-stacked Black Market earned a solid 69,000 units during its first week of release, good enough for a No. 6 spot. Black Market opens just one spot below G-Eazy’s When It’s Dark Out with 132,000 units, while Jeremih’s Late Nights didn’t make the top 10. On Sunday, Jeremih doubled down on recent criticism aimed at Def Jam over what some have called a failed album rollout.
