Michael Jackson’s estate has now alleged that the late singer’s property was stolen in the days following his death by a man who was engaged to one of Jackson’s siblings.

TMZ reports that the man, said to be Jeffre Phillips, was staying in Jackson’s Carolwood House when he died, for about nine days in June 2009, per court documents. The estate claims that Phillips used the moment to capitalize on the family’s grief.

During that time, Phillips purportedly stole a number of items, like Jackson’s iPhone, California driver's license, prescription pill bottles that were still filled, clothes, Jackson’s handwritten notes, video cameras, computers, hard drives, and a briefcase with personal and business papers. Phillips also apparently even took the pajamas that Jackson was wearing the day that he died, as well as a resuscitator tube.

It’s unclear who Phillips was engaged to in 2009. The filing comes in advance of the 13th anniversary of Jackson’s death.

Back in April, new footage of Jackson appearing during Jay-Z’s 2001 Summer Jam performance was unearthed, seemingly for the first time in its entirety. Seen in the video is the moment Hov brought MJ out, and the two are seen talking on stage while Jackson waved to fans and told them he loved them. Jay-Z later debuted the song “Takeover” during his set.
