Some celebrities are exasperated over Elon Musk’s Twitter Blue subscription policy.

Akon took to Twitter recently, to lament the $5 program, writing, “Back in the day, Twitter was begging musicians to stay on ‘cause they didn’t have traffic. They came up with a verification process to protect accounts from fakes ones, now @elonmusk is taking that away and forcing us to pay,”

He added, “FYI, I ain’t paying shit for something we helped build.”

However, it looks like Akon doubled back and deleted the tweet, later claiming that he was hacked: “My account was just hacked. This tweet didn’t come from me. Whom ever hacked my account, Please keep your personal opinions away from my profile respectfully.”

While The Game didn’t directly come for Musk, he did diss people who pay for the blue check. “If you bought your verification and I know you personally, delete my number,” he wrote on his Instagram Story, per TMZ. “It tells me everything I need to know about you. You a broke cheater—we are not the same.”

LeBron James echoed similar sentiments late last month, tweeted, “Welp guess my blue [check] will be gone soon cause if you know me I ain’t paying the five.”

At the time of writing, James has maintained his blue check, but it remains to be seen how long that will last.
