The Internet went nuts late Sunday night when Fifth Harmony announced that Camila Cabello was leaving the group, and Cabello followed shortly afterwards with a statement of her own, taking issue with the way the remaining members phrased things. In Cabello's long statement, she claimed that she was "shocked" by the what the group said. She wrote that she had "long, much needed conversations about the future" with the other group members while on tour, and to say that she was leaving the group "is simply not true," implying that she had been fired. She copped to wanting to continue with "solo endeavors," but said she "did not intend to end things" with the group "this way."
"Late Monday night, the remaining Fifth Harmony members fired back. In a lengthy statement of their own, they said that the "conversations" Cabello referred to "in fact never happened," despite their best efforts. Over a year and a half, since Cabello's first solo work was released, they claim they tried their best to get her to stay, but were constantly rebuffed.
