Ariana Grande and David Guetta are being sued by a songwriter who claims that the duo stole Grande's 2014 hit "One Last Time" from him.
Alex Griggs claims that Skye Stevens' 2012 song "Up All Night," written by Griggs, is the source material for Grande's single, which Guetta penned along with four other writers. According to The Jasmine Brand, Stevens claims that Grande's tune is "substantially similar" to his, citing the similar choruses and melodies. He also points out similarities in arrangement, tempo, and more.
Stevens had previously sent cease-and-desist letters, which were ignored by Grande and her label, Universal Music Group. So now he is suing Grande, Guetta, and UMG for $150K per infringement, and he also wants the label not to be able to make any further profits from the song.

Strangely enough, this is not the only controversy involving "One Last Time." The song's video, seen above, was said to have recreated scenes from a clip by the Australian band SAFIA.
Another pop star, Demi Lovato, is facing a similar plagiarism suit by the rock band Sleigh Bells, who accuse her of sampling their song "Infinity Guitars" without permission for her tune "Stars."
