Vince Staples Defies Gravity in the Video for "Lift Me Up"

Vince takes us to Long Beach in his latest video.

Last April, when Vince Staplesgave us a tour of his hometown, he declared his love for Long Beach by stating that he'd never leave. Since then, his debut album, Summertime '06, went on to become one of the biggest hip-hop releases of 2015. Today, he shares the visual treatment for album standout "Lift Me Up," reaffirming that although success may have elevated him, he's still got mad loyalty for his hometown.

The clip opens with swooping coastal shots before a gunshot hones viewers into Staples' reality. Dizzying camera angles and gravity-bending stunts abound, it's his most cinematic video thus far. As the track's chorus takes a turn for the literal, the Long Beach rapper begins to levitate above his hometown. Peep the vivid clip above and check out our interview with Staples here.
