From a mysterious tweet without many other details from trap godfather Gucci Mane, it looks like a biopic based on the best-selling bookThe Autobiography of Gucci Mane is really in the works, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film is set to be produced by Paramount Pictures and Imagine Entertainment, a company that is no stranger to bringing stories about music and hip hop culture to the big and small screen as the team behind films like 8 Mile and Empire. The studio now owns the movie rights to the book and an adaption is set to come from Paramount Players. Producers Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins are slated to work on the project, and having worked on blockbusters such as A Beautiful MindMulholland Drive, Apollo 13, The Dark Tower, Inside Man and the James Brown biopic Get On Up both together and separately, Gucci's life story is about to get the big budget treatment it deserves.

After releasing his autobiography last September, the book quickly climbed the New York Times best sellers list and received plenty of critical acclaim. In the original tweet, the rapper seemed down to direct the clip as well, but his official role in the project is still unclear. There are no details just yet about casting for the upcoming biopic either, but it does beg an important question: who could actually play Gucci better than Gucci?
