In the wake of the awful shooting at a Florida high school last month, celebrities have been stepping up and speaking up in their own ways to give conversations about gun control a platform. NME reports Fall Out Boy recently announced their own plans to headline the Stay Amped anti-gun benefit concert in Washington, D.C., the show coming as a result of their frustration at the lack of change following the shooting in Parkland, Florida.
In addition to performances by Fall Out Boy, who are currently on tour, G-Eazy, Bebe Rexha, Lizzo, and more yet-to-be-announced guests are set to take the stage at The Anthem on March 23. Survivors of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting will also make appearances.
"This is a time for action," bassist Pete Wentz said in a statement to NME about their decision to curate and headline the show. "We need to support the Parkland teens, and kids across the country. We have their backs, and we must demand our lawmakers do more to end this gun violence crisis."
The proceeds of the concert are set to go to gun reform charities including Everytown and Giffords Courage. Tickets for the show go on sale on Wednesday, March 14.
