Eve Calls Out Kanye and Tells People to Listen to Kendrick and J. Cole Instead

Eve: "I am done with Kanye."

After sharing some pretty inflammatory comments on TMZ Live about slavery having been a "choice," coupled with his support of president Donald Trump, Kanye West has had fans and fellow artists alike turn against him. That includes Eve, who seems to be done with the rapper. On a recent episode of The Talk, she shared how upset she was over Kanye's recent comments.

"It hurts my feelings. It hurt my actual feelings and it gives me chills as I'm talking about it because I'm like, this is a man that I actually used to listen to," she explained before urging people to listen to other artists instead. "Any young brothers lookin' at me, listening to me today: pick up some Nas, pick up some Damian Marley, pick up some J. Cole, pick up some Kendrick Lamar," she said. "Listen to these artists. I am done with Kanye."

In a longer version of the clip, she takes aim at Kanye's "free thought" defense of his ideas. “You want to be a free-thinker, you want to be thought-provoking, you cannot have these ideas without facts to back them up," she said. "We are still feeling the effects of slavery within our community, within our culture. It hurts me."

Since the original TMZ Live broadcast, Kanye has taken to Twitter to clarify what he meant by his slavery comment, and G.O.O.D. Music affiliate Mailk Yusef even came to his defense about it as well.
