Cardi B is no stranger to talking about everything from bullying to politics on her Instagram, and this time she wants to know just where her tax dollars end up since she's paying so many of them. Cardi's pockets have only grown bigger thanks to her success within the last two years, and with a reported net worth of $4 million that, of course, spells higher taxes, too.
Cardi starts off with a simple request. "So you know the government is taking 40 percent of my taxes and Uncle Sam, I want to fucking know what you’re doing with my fucking tax money!"
Cardi feels reporting on what tax money is being used for should be similar to the updates provided with some charitable donations. "When you donate to a kid from a foreign country they give you updates on what they’re doing with your donation," she explained. The Bronx native went on to highlight the places she feels the money is definitely not going to, particularly right in her hometown of New York City. "I’m from New York and the streets is always dirty, we was voted the dirtiest city in America," she said. "There’s still rats in the trains. I know you’re not spending it in the prison."
It seems like the rapper wants a pretty thorough breakdown, and it makes sense. "I want receipts. I want everything," she said.
Honestly? Same. On Twitter, users seemed to feel the same way.
Cardi headed back to Instagram to double down on her comments since they began making the rounds. "I can’t believe my video made the news," she said in the caption on a video showing her original rant on the live TV news. "A lot of people responded to this video like they spend our tax money in welfare, SSI, military but how do you know tho? Where is the prove? My neighborhood still look like shit! ....Don’t mind me tho I’m just a ex stripper with bad grammar and heavy accent."
