Justin Bieber has been going back and forth about dropping a new R&B album soon — and it looks like he's taking steps to actually do so. The pop singer is currently trying to trademark "R&Bieber," TMZ reports.
According to the trademark document, he's looking to trademark the term for entertainment services in the nature of live musical performances and production of sound recordings. He also wants to trademark it for movies and any merchandise that he's looking to sell. His team filed for the trademark on October 31, just a few days after he shared an Instagram post that simply said "R&Bieber" on October 27.
It's not clear if "R&Bieber" will be an album or not. But fans should keep on the lookout. Bieber told his fans on Instagram that "if this [post] gets 20 million likes Justin Bieber will release an album before Christmas."
Bieber's team filed legal docs just days after teasing he'd drop a new R&B album soon. He took to Instagram back on October 27 and simply posted "R&Bieber." Later that day, he told his 121 million followers that "if this gets 20 million likes Justin Bieber will release an album before Christmas."
"Share it, like it, post in your story, I gotta see the demand ;) love you guys pumped for it! I'm almost done but your support will make me move faster," he wrote. The post is at about 11 million likes.
Bieber released his last studio album, Purpose, nearly four years ago, so it's about time for a new album from the Canadian artist. But that doesn't mean he's been silent. He dropped a joint record with Dan + Shay called "10,000 Hours" in October.
