Starring Jordin Sparks and the late and great Whitney Houston, Sparkle, out Friday, follows the meteoric rise of a group of soul-singing sisters from Motown, which was inspired by the original girl group The Supremes. Thanks to the heavy anticipation for the movie, we admit we've become a bit nostalgic for those singing and dancing girl groups who feel so far and few between these days. So, in honor of the film's release, we set out to compile a list of The 10 Hottest Girl Groups of All Time.

Salt-n-Pepa

Members: Cheryl "Salt" James, Sandra "Pepa" Denton, DJ Spinderella

In the 80s and 90s, with mega hits like "Push It", "Let's Talk About Sex" and "Whatta Man", this Queens-based trio became certified superstars and household names. Besides being tough, talented and hot, these three ladies did the unthinkable, which was that they not only succeeded, but thrived in what was a predominantly male-oriented hip hop culture at the time.

All Saints

Members: Shaznay Lewis, Melanie Blatt, Nicole Appleton, Natalie Appleton

Though the British/Canadian foursome never enjoyed crossover success here in the States, from 1993 to 2009, they continually topped the UK charts, having nine top ten singles, including the BRIT award-winning hit "Never Ever."

The Supremes

Members: Diana Ross, Mary Wilson, Florence Ballard, Former members: Betty McGlown, Barbara Martin, Cindy Birdsong, Jean Terrell, Lynda Laurence, Scherrie Payne, Susaye Greene

What would this list be if we didn't include and pay homage to one of the original girl groups, The Supremes. Led by the legendary Diana Ross, these gorgeous gals helped pave the way for not only every other girl group on this list, but for every other girl group period. With class, elegance and grace, this beautiful trio defined what a girl group should be.

TLC

Members: T-Boz, Chili, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopez

TLC defined themselves with a sound that they described as being "Crazy, Sexy, Cool." We completely agree, with emphasis on the sexy. The trio, who produced hits such as "Waterfalls" and "Unpretty," have taken home Grammys, VMAs, AMAs and Billboard Music Awards, just to name a few of the group's myriad of accomplishments.

With Chili's classic beauty, T-Boz's tough but sexy demeanor and Left Eye's adorable charm, the girls were a perfect combination. Sadly, we never had a shot with any of them. They don't want no scrubs.

En Vogue

Members: Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, Rhona Bennett, Former members: Amanda Cole, Dawn Robinson

To say we had a crush on En Vogue in high school would be an understatement. In an era when MTV actually played music videos, men all over the world would wait through Wilson Philips and Soul Asylum videos, hoping that En Vogue's "Free Your Mind" would come on so they could catch a glimpse of the leather-clad group walking a runway.

They had talent. They had looks. They had attitude. Us on the other hand, we had the goofy smile of a smitten teenage boy.

Danity Kane

Members: Aubrey O'Day, D. Woods, Shannon Bex, Dawn Richards, Aundrea Fimbres

None of the artists that Sean "Diddy" Combs launched on MTV's Making The Band had particularly long careers. Remember O Town or Da Band? Us neither. However, we sure as hell remember Danity Kane.

Mr. Combs was obviously looking for more than just the ability to hit a high note when he put this group together. These ladies, all five of them, are undoubtedly smoking hot. And much like The Supremes had Diana Ross and Destiny's Child had Beyonce, Danity Kane had a breakout star of its own: Aubrey O'Day. The group's arguable frontwoman went on to pose for Playboy and appear on Celebrity Apprentice, making her the only person to be fired by both Diddy and Donald.

The Pussycat Dolls

Members: Simone Battle, Natasha Slayton, Lauren Bennett, Paula Van Oppen, Natalia Mejia, Former members: Carmit Bachar, Jessica Sutta, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Melody Thornton, Nicole Scherzinger

Being that The Pussycat Dolls were originally founded as a burlesque troupe, they really had no choice but to be hot. Throughout the group's existence, the lion's share of the attention has been focused on Nicole Scherzinger, the group's exotic frontwoman.

But don't let that fool you. The rest of the girls are equally as attractive, which is to say that they're all insanely hot. Though they've had some lineup changes throughout the years, the overall sex appeal of the group has always remained a constant.

Girls Aloud

Members: Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Sarah Harding, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh

Much like Danity Kane, the UK-based quintet was formed on a reality television series, Popstars: The Rivals. But unlike Danity Kane, Girls Aloud have had massive success since their inception.

In total, these beautiful Brits have a staggering 20 consecutive top ten singles. And on top of that, all five of their albums have gone certified platinum. In this day and age, with the music industry being what it is, that's an impressive feat to say the least.

Destiny's Child

Members: Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Former members: LeToya Luckett, LaTavia Roberson, Farrah Franklin

Without Destiny's Child, the world wouldn't have been made aware of the beautiful Beyonce Knowles. Now, not only are we aware of her, but the birth of her and Jay-Z's child was headline news on CNN.

But, let us be perfectly clear here, one woman a supergroup does not make. Though the group no longer performs together, Beyonce's partners, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland, are both wildly attractive women who made the term "Bootylicious" mainstream. Not to mention, the original foursome brought us "Bills, Bills, Bills," and "Say My Name."

Spice Girls

Members: Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell

Posh, Ginger, Baby, Sporty and Ginger. Indeed, without so much as a Google search we were able to rattle off the nicknames of all five Spice Girls. How? Because in the late 1990's The Spice Girls became a veritable pop culture phenomenon.

Though they're songs were undeniably catchy, their success was no doubt aided by the fact that they're all insanely hot. Emma "Baby Spice" Bunton is adorable beyond belief. Geri "Ginger Spice" Halliwell is a stunning redhead with centerfold (literally) good looks. Melanie "Scary Spice" Brown is so attractive that it should come as no surprise that she was able to nab her millionaire ex-husband, Eddie Murphy. Melanie "Sporty Spice" Chisholm is an underrated beauty. Finally, Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham may be the only woman in the world who can walk into a room with David Beckham and have everyone staring at her.

And thanks to their reunion at the London Olympics Closing Ceremony, they're evidently still as attractive as we remembered them over 15 years ago. Yes, for our money, the Spice Girls are the hottest girl group of all time.
