Twitter Is Dragging Kodak Black for His "Boosie Fade" and Ducktail Combo

Kodak Black revived hair trends from the ’90s and early aughts, and Twitter quickly got in his mentions with all types of disrespect.

By and large, Kanye West managed to pull off a combination of the mullet and a Bobby Brown-inspired shag as his go-to hairstyle for 808s & Heartbreak. Suffice it to say, Kodak Black’s attempts at reviving retro hairstyles aren’t going as well. Kodak—who has previously shared topics such as his post-jail diet and purchasing a new home on Instagram—decided to display a new hairstyle to his 2.7 million Instagram followers with some hilariously disastrous results.

“This Ain’t A Boosie Fade Fuck Nigga This A #KodakFade,” Kodak wrote, while showing off a low-level flattop fade and a ponytail. “I Keep Something New Going On ... I Cut The #KodakKnots.”

For those unfamiliar with the nuances of African-American haircare, the “Boosie Fade” Kodak was referring to is the part-afro, part-closely-cropped and faded cut Boosie Badazz popularized during the early aughts. The new cut also featured the type of ponytail braid Eddie Murphy’s wore while portraying the character Prince Akeem in the 1988 comedy Coming to America. Users have been divided on whether Kodak is or isn’t actually rocking the infamous Boosie fade, and the whole situation has supplied some humorous reactions via social media.

Boosie Badazz has previously appeared with Kodak on the tracks “Gooked Out (Remix),” “Viral” and “Slayed,” so there’s some tangential evidence for those citing him as the inspiration for Kodak dropping his signature “Kodak Knots.”
