‘All Eyez on Me’ Script Draft With Tupac Assault Scene Has Leaked

During an interview with The Breakfast Club earlier in June, All Eyez on Me co-producer LT Hutton alleged one of John Singleton’s drafts for the biopic included a scene of Tupac Shakur being assaulted while in prison. Hutton's comments begin in the video below at the 13:32 mark.

“The raped in jail stuff—yeah, he wanted to put that in there,” Hutton said. “He wanted to start the movie off with Tupac going in the studio. One guy’s in the studio, and he’s getting head.”

A draft of the script, titled “Revision Eight,” has leaked and it does indeed feature a scene that at least insinuates some type of assault on Shakur while at Clinton Correctional Facility.

“The guards usher in one by one about six inmates,” a transcript obtained by TMZ reads. “Their faces predatory and degenerate. These are the worst prisoners in this facility. One [of] them licks his lips eyeing ’Pac.”

The scene cuts to a bloodied and beaten Shakur in his prison cell wearing a ripped prison uniform.

Singleton was one of three big name directors, along with Antoine Fuqua and Carl Franklin, tied to the project to eventually step away from directing the film. Singleton voiced his displeasure with All Eyez on Me in 2015 and again after the film’s theatrical release.

The TMZ report further claims Morgan Creek Films’ Executive Vice President Greg Mielcarz authenticated the alleged Singleton script, saying it was “one of several versions penned by Mr. Singleton while he was working with Morgan Creek.”

In November of 2015, Benny Boom signed on to direct All Eyez on Me. According to Forbes, All Eyez on Me has earned $38.96 million since being released.
