Zach Zoya new’s single “Start Over” featuring Benny Adam is an upbeat, triumphant ode to new beginnings.
On the track, Zoya promises to change and be better for his love interest. Zoya’s expressive vocals and passionate lyrics make for a smooth offering that is bursting with tropical melodies.
Accompanying the new track is an acoustic performance video of Zoya stripping down the song as part of his new series with Montreal streetwear label Atelier New Regime. The simple, relaxed video takes place in the brand’s flagship boutique in the city.
“The day that ‘Start Over’ was written was one of my first sessions working with other songwriters,” Zoya says. “Up to that point, songwriting had been a very solitary experience for me. It was about locking in by myself and painstakingly writing a story line by line.”
“Having Benny, Ruffsound and Billboard all in the room with me, it became a collaborative effort that I found very refreshing—I got to write as the melodies were being built which forced me to innovate and flow in a different way,” he adds. “Making the songwriting process a conversation as opposed to a monologue is so much more fun.”
The track is third single from Zach Zoya’s upcoming second EP, which is out next year.
