Yung Miami has explained that she has yet to release any new music due to her label, Quality Control, believing she hasn't evolved as an artist.
On the latest episode of Caresha Please, the rapper reflected on her music career and revealed why she hasn't put out any new material. According to Yung Miami, she's investing more time and money into herself, but QC has been hesitant to invest fully in her solo career because they haven't seen any "growth" since her City Girl days.
"I'm not able to release music right now because it's like when I try to turn my music in, it's just like 'We don't see no growth in your music' or 'You not elevating.' You know, like 'Tthe fans you've had since years ago, they're grown now.'"
Yung Miami kicked off her solo career in 2021 after spending five years with JT as the rap duo City Girls. She released her first solo single, "Rap Freaks," which peaked at No. 81 on the Billboard Hot 100, but wouldn't release another song until February 2024 with "50/50."
The Florida native followed up "50/50" with the release of "CFWM" featuring Skilla Baby in April. In July, Yung Miami teased a new song on her Instagram Live that drew mixed reactions from fans. She then confronted critics by asking why she gets so much hate when other rappers are doing the same.
"With me is where y'all draw the line??? LOL ok," Miami tweeted.
