Shakira is bringing her record-breaking world tour to Spain in a major way, unveiling a three-night residency in Madrid that promises to be unlike a traditional concert run.
Set for September 25 through 27, the shows will take place in a specially constructed venue dubbed “Estadio Shakira,” a temporary space designed to host a fully immersive experience. Located at the Iberdrola Music site in the Villaverde district, the custom-built venue will span several acres and blend music with elements of film, food, literature and curated exhibitions under the theme Es Latina.
The concept reflects a growing trend of large-scale, artist-controlled residencies in Europe, allowing performers to shape every aspect of the audience experience. In this case, Shakira is leaning into a multidisciplinary approach, turning the concerts into a broader cultural event rather than a standard live show.
The residency is part of her ongoing Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, which has already made history. The tour has become the highest-grossing by a Hispanic artist, generating more than $400 million and drawing millions of fans across dozens of shows worldwide.
That momentum has carried through recent stops, including a massive run in Mexico City where Shakira sold out multiple nights and drew hundreds of thousands of attendees. She also delivered a free performance in Mexico City’s Zócalo which brought in a crowd of roughly 400,000 people.
Before arriving in Spain, Shakira is scheduled to perform at Brazil’s Copacabana Beach, where organizers expect about a million attendees, further underscoring the scale of her current run.
The Madrid residency marks a significant moment in the tour’s European leg, offering fans a more curated and immersive experience built specifically for the occasion. Tickets for the shows are set to go on sale on March 27.
