Sean Kingston and his mother, Janice Turner, are no longer fighting their federal fraud convictions.

On Thursday (June 11), the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit approved a motion filed by the singer and his mother last month to voluntarily dismiss their appeal. The decision effectively ends their effort to challenge either their convictions or the prison sentences handed down last year.

The move closes a lengthy legal chapter for the pair, who were found guilty in March 2025 on one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of wire fraud. They began their appeals process the following August, following their sentencing.

Federal prosecutors accused Kingston, whose legal name is Kisean Paul Anderson, and Turner of orchestrating a scheme that targeted sellers of luxury goods between April 2023 and March 2024.

According to the Department of Justice, the duo obtained more than $1 million worth of high-end merchandise by convincing vendors they had been paid when, in reality, the funds never arrived.

Among the items involved in the scheme were luxury watches, a bulletproof Cadillac Escalade, and a massive 232-inch LED television.

Prosecutors argued that Kingston leveraged his celebrity status to build trust with sellers, often promising publicity through social media or suggesting other high-profile clients might be interested in their products.

Authorities said the scheme relied on falsified wire transfer confirmations that made it appear as though payments had been sent. Investigators alleged Turner obtained or created the fraudulent documents, which were then used to reassure vendors that payment was on the way.

A federal jury in South Florida ultimately found both Kingston and Turner guilty on all counts.

Kingston was sentenced in August 2025 to 42 months in federal prison, while Turner received a longer sentence of 60 months behind bars.

The appeal had represented their final major opportunity to overturn the verdicts or seek reduced sentences. By choosing to dismiss the case, both will now move forward with serving their prison terms.

In addition to incarceration, Kingston and Turner are also expected to face financial obligations tied to the case, including restitution to victims and periods of supervised release after they complete their sentences.
