Mustard has secured a significant win in his ongoing custody battle with ex-wife Chanel Thierry, as a judge granted the producer greater control over key decisions involving their children.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the Grammy-winning hitmaker has been granted tie-breaking authority on educational matters for the couple’s three kids through August 2026. The ruling means Mustard will have the final say on schooling decisions when disagreements arise.
The decision comes after concerns raised in court filings about Thierry’s social media activity. A judge determined that some of her posts violated an existing order prohibiting either parent from speaking negatively about the other in a way that could be heard by or affect the children. That finding played a role in shifting decision-making power in Mustard’s favor.
In addition to the custody adjustment, both parents have been ordered to participate in high-conflict co-parenting therapy, signaling the court’s view that communication between the two remains strained. Mustard has been tasked with providing a list of qualified therapists, from which Thierry will select one.
While Mustard also sought financial penalties against his ex, the court declined to impose sanctions, focusing on the co-parenting structure rather than punishment.
Importantly, the ruling is not permanent. The added authority applies specifically to educational decisions and is set to expire in a matter of months, leaving open the possibility of further legal developments down the line. For now, the outcome gives Mustard a temporary but meaningful edge as both sides continue to work through a contentious co-parenting dynamic.
