J. Prince has made it clear that he thinks YSL Woody is a "fake-ass" person after the latter compared Young Thug to the music executive in an interview with detectives.
On Monday, Prince shared a post on his Instagram of Woody taking the stand in the YSL RICO case, where he was asked several questions about an interview he had with detectives in which he compared Thug and Prince, stating the rapper wanted to be as big in Atlanta as the Rap-A-Lot Records founder is in Houston.
"Now Mr. Copeland, in this June 10 interview, you made a reference that Thug was trying to be like the J Prince of Atlanta," the prosecution asked in the video. "Do you recall hearing that?"
"I guess," Woody said before the prosecution asked who J Prince is. "I don't know. I told you for the 10th time, I'm gonna tell the police anything, and that's what I did."
Prince didn't like how Woody spoke about him and proceeded to call him "fake" and dragged the prosecution for even asking the question and trying to "destroy" a man's life for being inspired by a Black entrepreneur. According to Prince, "black-on-black" racism doesn't help the culture.
"Nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to fake-ass people putting my name in their mouth," Prince wrote. "But I still find it very interesting how some prosecutors will go above and beyond the call of duty to try and destroy a man's life for being inspired by a successful Black entrepreneur like myself. Btw, Black-on-Black racism feels the worst."
Woody has been on a run throughout the YSL RICO trial, saying he lied to police about Thugga's alleged criminal doings in Atlanta. He originally said he spoke on the alleged crimes Thug was involved in and even said the rapper was taking part in an alleged murder plot. In August, he offered an explanation for the claims, stating he wanted to get attention off of him from the police so he put everything on Thug.
"The police kept locking me up for whatever they could," Woody said. "Every time I come out the door, the police was on me, and they keep bringing up Thug’s name. So what I did was to get ’em off me. I said, 'Thug did this. Thug did that. Thug,' because I knew they were... I knew he didn’t do it."
