Fetty Wap will be home sooner than expected, as he has received another adjustment to his prison release date, shaving off an additional month and setting him up to spend Christmas with his family.

Us Weekly first reported that Fetty is now scheduled to be released on December 8, 2026, a notable bump from the previously updated date of January 8, 2027. Just two months ago, his initial March 13, 2027 release was moved up by two months. The reason for the latest revision remains unclear. Complex reached out to Fetty's lawyer for comment.

According to Federal Bureau of Prisons records, the “Trap Queen” artist is currently serving his sentence at FCI Sandstone, a low-security federal facility in Minnesota.

Fetty’s legal troubles began in October 2021, when he was arrested on federal drug trafficking charges. Prosecutors accused him and five others of transporting and distributing more than 100 kilograms of heroin, fentanyl, and other drugs across Long Island.

He initially pleaded not guilty and was released on a $500,000 bond, but his release was revoked in August 2022 after he was accused of brandishing a firearm and threatening to kill an unnamed man during a FaceTime call. He later pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine.

In May 2023, he was sentenced to six years in federal prison. Prosecutors argued that Maxwell used his fame to “glamorize the drug trade,” pointing to lyrics where he referenced cooking and selling drugs.

During sentencing, Fetty apologized for the harm he caused to his community and family, telling the court, “I hurt my community, people who look up to me, my family and myself. I am truly sorry for any pain I caused.”

Judge Joanna Seybert criticized him for throwing away his success after overcoming a difficult upbringing.
